Legislative Scorecard

By combining votes on civil liberties, non-intervention, personal freedom, government spending, and monetary policy we are able to provide a more accurate measure of who supports the liberty agenda. We can also prevent legislators from claiming support when convenient but voting the other way when they think no one is watching. We are watching and with your help - we will ensure Congress knows it.

Bill Description

The farm and food Stamp bill continues to spend over $1 trillion dollars on a combination of costly welfare and corporate handouts. Specifically, the bill fails to reform food welfare programs and continues to provide direct support for insurance companies, large agricultural corporations and specific industries at large expense to the U.S. taxpayer.

Liberty for All's Position

Liberty For All supports the American farmer. This bill, on the other hand, supports large corporations through direct subsidies. Subsidies are anti-competitive, distort the market, and literally take from the taxpayer to provide handouts to companies that do not deserve nor need them. This bill is yet another example of lobbyists' victory over the American people. Even worse, this specific bill attempts to combine separate policies together, making the legislation confusing and further corrupting the political process for the purpose of providing even more handouts and redistribution. Our nation needs stronger communities, but as every farmer knows, we can't grow them from Washington D.C. Local solutions, local charities, and local people will always be more respectful, efficient, and effective than a far-flung government counterpart.
