Legislative Scorecard

By combining votes on civil liberties, non-intervention, personal freedom, government spending, and monetary policy we are able to provide a more accurate measure of who supports the liberty agenda. We can also prevent legislators from claiming support when convenient but voting the other way when they think no one is watching. We are watching and with your help - we will ensure Congress knows it.

Bill Description

This bill would increase congressional oversight over the ever-growing regulatory regime and would start restoring the separation of powers provided for by the Constitution. The REINS act increased accountability and transparency by requiring Congress to approve new major regulations.

Liberty for All's Position

Legislating is constitutionally delegated to Congress and not to the Executive branch. It is an unconstitutional and reckless abuse of power to rule by executive order and without additional oversight the public will continue to be subject to the whims of the President, or, even worse, unelected bureaucrats, regardless of which party is in office. The REINS act restores accountability to Congress and provides an important check on power while we move toward a more self-regulated and locally governed society. Central planners in D.C. have an impossible task and the REINS act empowers our elected leaders and all Americans to take a more active role in their communities and government.
